Psychtoolbox-3 Bugs

Reporting Bugs

Don't be shocked if you find a bug. Do tell us so we can fix it, but first please execute the UpdatePsychtoolbox command to make sure that you have the most recent (and most bug-free) release. Perhaps your bug has already been fixed. Bugs get fixed in the 'beta' (i.e. current) flavor of PTB.

The ideal bug report includes not only a description of the problem, but also a few lines of Matlab code that that can be run to demonstrate the problem. Please also provide the exact version of Psychtoolbox (Output of the PsychtoolboxVersion command) and as much detail about your system as possible, e.g., type and version of operating system, model of your computer and graphics card, version of Matlab used etc. Often it helps to provide the output in the Matlab window that PTB printed during execution. The diary command of Matlab allows you to record this output into a text file. If you issue the command Screen('Preference', 'Verbosity', 10); before running the troublesome script, PTB will create much more output to the Matlab console, which will also aid in debugging. On Mac OS X, if you encounter a problem that prevents Psychtoolbox from starting up at all, it can be useful to run the glxinfo command in a X-Windows terminal window and post the output of the command as part of your bug report.
